A Yod chart aspect shape is a ‘Finger of God’.
It is when two planets are sextile each other (at 60 degrees) and each of them is in a quincunx angle (150 degrees) to the third planet at the apex of the Yod triangle. You can see this Yod embodied in the chart for today, below. And to the left is a diagram of the Yod chart aspect shape.
The energy created by a Yod is to give great importance to the apex planet – but it does create a situation where the person finds it quite difficult to actually apprehend the energy and meaning of the apex planet directly.
As with any Yod, what the person has to do is work in a visionary way or in a symbolic way at the energy of the planets in sextile that form the base of the Yod triangle. They have to do this in order to more fully understand the meaning of the apex planet.
So here we have in this energy in the heavens now as an opportunity for sensitivity and for vision. An opportunity to be developed through understanding the energy of Sun at 9 degrees Taurus sextile Neptune at 9 degrees Pisces. And that understanding can lead us to understanding the meaning of the North Node of the Moon which is currently at 8 degrees Libra.
So what does the energy of this Yod in the heavens at this time mean?
Well, I believe we are called to find and develop our own sensitivity to Sacred Earth.
I have just spent this time exploring a deep cave in the Lake District (called Cathedral Cave: see photo opposite) and walking through the weird weather to feel the beauty of Elterwater: the lake in the English Lake District whose name means ‘Swan Lake’ in Old Norse, the language of the land’s earlier inhabitants.
Indeed some time ago I wrote a visionary novel called Sacred Earth (available on Amazon).
So, what is the meaning of the Sun – Neptune combination?
Well, Reinhold Ebertin in his wonderful study: ‘Combination of Stella Influences’ includes, the following manifestations when experienced with positive consciousness:
Sensitiveness. Vision. Compassion. Receptiveness. Active imagination, enthusiasm. Mysticism, soul life, inner life-experience. Great subtlety. He says these are Visionaries, mediums, sensitives. He writes that the aspect can offer abundant experience in psychic or spiritual realms. Mystical experiences, journeys to far-distant places. Success through sympathetic understanding of others.
And what is the energy of the North Node of the Moon in this Yod. Well, I was very interested to find that this degree in Vedic Astrology (14 deg Vedic Virgo) has the following Sidereal symbol based on ancient Vedic Star Lore:
SYMBOL : A radiant rainbow in the centre of which is the Sun in its brightness – Denotes a lover of nature in her grandeur, one of artistic, mystic and philosophic mind, who will move about a great deal and travel to various places. He is capable of spreading the light of truth and of helping many to see and appreciate its marvels. This degree is a fortunate one and promises much.
Through contacting the beauty of Mother Earth, our planet, we are brought to appreciation of the sacred which lies immanent within all landscape.
We create a collective energy field that honours the earth and the Sacred. In writing this I am contributing to that.
