Lisa is reviewing David Frawley’s: Tantric Yoga and the Wisdom Goddesses: p. 157 to end, and here are her comments:
Wow! I learnt more about yoga from this book then so many complicated others I have tried to grasp over the years. I couldn’t put it down! This book is profoundly practical and I know I will use it for practise and referring to.
I have not heard of the 10 wisdom goddesses. The only two I know of is Tara and very vaguely. The other is Kali through reading the Gospel of Sri RamaKrishna which of course Swami Vivekananda was a disciple of.
I found whilst reading this book that the teachings of Omraam Mikhael Aivanhov were all confirmed here, from Surya yoga being the highest yoga of all, to the wonderful use of symbolism and their effect on a much more subtle level.
I also didn’t except to be learning about Ayurveda in conjunction with Astrology, however David Frawley ties in Yoga, Astrology and Ayurveda beautifully and really how could it be left out.
Are you familiar with Sage Patanjali?
The yoga I practice is based on the Sage Patanjali’s 196 aphorisms, and at the start of every experienced class we chant the invocation for Patanjali. In the first few lines we give thanks for giving us yoga for serenity and sanctity of the mind, grammar – Patanjali was a master of Sanskrit – for clarity and purity of speech, and medicine – Patanjali was a master of Ayurveda – for perfection of health. I have included the invocation in English below – we sing it in Sanskrit
So very quickly I’m finding that my choice to do this wonderful course with you is tying everything I truly believe in and have experienced myself together and that indeed all is one.
I feel confirmed in a special way that this is a special course and that I have met another wonderful and inspiring teacher on my path. Thank you <3
