This is a Post about my Astrology Birth Chart Readings.
You can find out more about Astrology Birth Chart Readings here, or buy an Astrology Reading directly at the foot of this post
When you enroll for an astrology reading with me, I send you all your charts beforehand so that you can refer to them during the recorded reading session, and you can also opt for wonderful detailed reports on your astrology as well.
A special bonus is that my Astrolgy is never formulaic, but it generates good and caring grounded perception.
It is also totally geared to your healing and empowerment. I work closely with my partner Maggie Pashley who offers many worldwide Healings: www.maggiepashley.com.
My Astrology Readings are of exceptional expert quality, and this is partly because I draw on both western psychodynamic astrology and Vedic astrology. So, what’s the difference?
Modern western psychodynamic astrology, when expertly interpreted, accurately depicts our psychological make-up, the sub-personalities within us and issues of individuation and wholeness. It encompasses our sub-personalities and psychosynthesis and also understanding of nature versus nurture’ agendas in our lives. Modern Western Astrology also includes a dimension of Evolutionary Astrology: a statement of how past life scripts influence this life, and this is evaluated in terms of the psychological results of past live scripts.
Vedic astrology which is far more ancient powerful and accurately identifies the journey of the soul. It identifies the journey we were born to undertake. It describes the physical and psycho-mental circumstances we will attract into our lives as fates for us to work with. Vedic astrology asserts that these fates are chosen with reference to past karmas that have accrued in previous lives. Some of these karmas are fixed (drida): there is little we can do about them: we need to experience them =for a life-time in order to make the growth we need to undertake; other of our karmas are not fixed (adrida) – these we can learn to modify or eliminate or ‘burn’.
Zodiacs:
Western astrology uses the tropical zodiac (start point 0 deg tropical Aries: where the Sun is on the first day of Spring); Vedic Astrology uses the sidereal zodiac (start point 0 deg sidereal Aries which is anchored to a fixed star). As the western tropical zodiac moves a degree every 72 years against the backdrop of the stars, the two zodiacs are currently 24 degrees apart).
CHARTS:
Your Western Astrology Charts:
So, the first Western astrology birth chart to be shown in the charts document that I send you in advance, is generated using the Astrocalc computer program. This is a wonderful astrology software, and shows you your natal planets, including the Outer Planets: Uranus, Neptune and Pluto, and also Chiron the Wounded Healer: depictor of your personal, individual Existential Wound.
The second chart Western astrology birth chart that I send you is from Megastar and is the chart drawn up according to the methods of the Swiss Huber School of Astrology, it is psychodynamic and psychosynthesis in basis, the Hubers having been trained by Assagioli, and also influenced by Alice Bailey:
Your Chart Aspect Shapes
One of the special features of Megastar is that it shows you the chart aspect shapes in your chart. These are best seen, normally, in the Swiss Huber School-style birth chart.
Chart aspect shapes are a powerful guide to our deepest psychological motivations. They identify what parts of our personality work easily together, and which parts are so different that it is hard to reconcile one with the other. In other words, they chart and define our egoic psychology.
In particular, chart aspect shapes analysis is excellent for identifying which parts of us are split off: what parts act as ‘Unaspected sub-personalities. The need is to know even the split-off parts of ourselves, so that we will not be driven by unconscious denied parts, so that we will not swing wildly from one persona to another, bewildering ourselves and those around us.
This processes of unifying our Self is called ‘individuation’ the principle method used in achieving individuation is called ‘psychosynthesis’.
Having an Unaspected sub-personality means that sometimes you may come over over-powerfully with that energy to other people, and yet have no real idea of how powerfully you are coming across with those characteristics; you might feel you are being too weak – or vice versa.
But it also means that that energy-principle is unconnected to the rest of you. It is an Unaspected sub-personality. You will find it difficult to assess. It could be the tail that wags the dog. It could take over your life. At other times you will be unable to access and connect to its energy at all.
We need to recognize and understand our Unaspected sub-personalities. This can be done through the method of role-play psychosynthesis. It is linked to the principle of ‘Individuation’ in the psychology of Asaglione
Nature versus Nurture
Another so very well worthwhile feature demonstrated by your Megastar chart that I send you is the issue of ‘Nature versus Nurture’ in your life.
Planets in signs are our inherited nature. Planets in houses are our nurture or upbringing. This is the ‘nature versus nurture’ debate. The Question is: Who are we: our nature or our nurture?
The Huber School ‘Dynamic Counting’ Table shows the Swiss Huber School analysis of your ‘nature versus nurture’ issues.
Your Personal Rays:
Another wonderful feature I send you from Megastar is a statement of which of the seven Rays you espcially incarnated to work with. Thhe 7 Rays system originated from Alexandrian Egypt, and was used in the modern West around 1900 by Alice Bailey.
Your Vedic Astrology Charts:
Turning to your Vedic Astrology Charts that I presnet for you in the reports and during the Reading: I not only give you a clear statement of yoru destiny, your incarnational life purpose and so much more from your Vedic Astrolgoy birth Chart, I also show where your planets are placed in the wonderful Nakshatras.
The Nakshatras are The Lunar Zodiac of Vedic Astrology. Note that in addition to its so powerful and accurate Sidereal Zodiac, Vedic astrology also employs an even more ancient zodiac: the immeasurably powerful and beautiful lunar zodiac of 27 signs – The 27 Nakshatras. The Nakshatras depict our emotional realities in a magical and dream time way that is pre-solar, pre-logical and pre-linear, and is hugely accurate, powerful and meaningful. It is graphically realistic and thus depicts our emotional self and consciousness in a way that is very ‘warts and all’, though it is nevertheless orientated to the possibility of growth: to growth of our consciousness and awareness; to growth of our handling of our emotional selves. The positions of the lunar signs were more easily visible to very ancient astrologers because they are quite simply the position of the Moon in the heavens on each of the 27 days the Moon takes to orbit the Earth. Because the lunar signs are so ancient, they are powerful and magical and pre-rational, and each of them has a power animal that can be used for many purposes of understanding, including the identification of the best marriage partner for you. Each of them has a ruling deity. For fine-tuning, each is divided into four ‘Padas’ or ‘portions’. This system is immensely sophisticated in the techniques it uses such as Navtara, Nara chakra (health statement) and Nadi Nakshatras. Its vast and sure systems of sign rulerships and qualities throw immense meaning onto our lives. Nakshatras are much more the lunar side of the mind: emotional and impressionistic. They show the subjective reaction to the concrete things that are going on, and how we can grow our consciousness out of our emotional inheritance.
Once you have seen what Nakshatras analysis offers, you’ll see that you can’t do without it.
Very Important Note – Love Astrology: The Lunar Sign or Nakshatra that your Moon falls in in your Vedic natal chart is the basis for the ancient and powerfully accurate Vedic Astrology of love and relationships. Each Nakshatra has a power animal. The power animal of the same species but the opposite gender to your own is your ideal sexual partner, however, taking the wider issues of relationship, overall compatibility is often best with another Lunar Sign.
The Vedic Astrology of Love and Relationships gives an exceptionally clear and decisive analysis of a relationship. This is given in a way that is not available from western astrology. It travels the infinite thread between intimacy and vastness. Vedic Love Astrology states simply and powerfully the key issues about relationship, for example it measures the all-important quality of respect, what level of sexual attraction, whether there is friendliness, whether there is the necessary shared sense of purpose, and so forth. It is an invaluable backbone to relationships understanding. You can’t actually understand relationships without it.
Here are some of the Vedic Astrology charts I present you with as we prepare for your Reading: You can hear a bit more about some of these in the Video accompanying this Blog Post.

The meaning of these so very valuable charts will be explained to you in the Reading:
Your Planets as Karakas or indicators for aspects of your destiny:
In Vedic Astrology, each planet acts as an indicator for an area of yoru life. So, for example, if the planet for children issues is in good standing, then chidlren issues will go well in your life. However, please ntoe that each planet also indiactes a psecial area of yur life using Moveable Indicators as well. These are the ‘Charakarakas’, and the Charakaraka system as regards your life is as follows: Just to cite one example in this Blog Post, there is your crucial AymaKaraka:
AK = the Atmakaraka the indicator of the soul and the self (also called Atma) and also our health. Our most important planet. It represents an unfinished task of prime importance left over from our past life. Predictive periods ruled by or involving your Atmakaraka can be especially trenchant and turbulent as our soul seeks to put our life on ‘spiritual course’.
The Atmakaraka is the ‘soul indicator’ it represents a central life task carried over from a previous life.
Predictive periods ruled by or involving your Atmakaraka can be especially trenchant and turbulent as our soul seeks to put our life on ‘spiritual course’.
YOUR SUN
The Sun tells you about your Father and also about your egoic self, your business self. A good symbol for understanding the role of the Sun in your Vedic Chart is the charioteer. The charioteer holds in his hands the reins of the horses that pull forward the chariot of self. The horses are the other planets in your chart. If the charioteer is weak, the horses will pull in different directions and maybe even overturn the chariot!
YOUR MOON
The Moon is the principal planet in the Vedic birth chart. As such, the Moon sign in which your Moon falls is the basis of the ancient and surely declarative Vedic astrology of love and marriage. Please see the separate love report for the Vedic lunar sign in which your moon falls in your Vedic birth chart.
The Phase of the Moon at the moment you were Born
Vedic Astrology has an incredibly powerful astrology regarding the phase the Moon was at the moment you were born. This Moon Phase is called Tithi. If your Tithi is weak, it will undermine your birth chart decisively. If your Tithi is strong it will assist your birth chart decisively.
YOUR ASCENDANT (LAGNA) NAKSHATRA
Your Ascendant (also called Rising Sign or First House) is the key house in your Vedic Birth Chart or Rashi Chart. The planet that rules the 1st House becomes a key factor to analyze. The Rashi Chart or Vedic Birth Chart is the powerfully accurate depictor of your body and your life path (your Deha). The body is not of course just physical. The body holds impressions of this-life and previous life events, incarnational life path. The body is also a microcosm of the macrocosm. And the macrocosm is about the divine unfoldment: God experiencing himself. Individual destiny can be overruled by mass destiny. And the crucial big issue is: to what extent can destiny be changed, co-created with, changed by healing and empowerment.
Varga Charts:
Note that I also refer in your recorded reading to your Varga charts or Divisional Charts, and each Varga chart gives powerful land accurate specialized indication about a particular aspect of our life.
Your Incarnational Life Meaning in Vedic Astrology
A major contribution of Vedic Astrology is its statement of your incarnational life meaning: why you are here.
This is stated in terms of the position of the Nodes of the Moon in your Vedic natal chart. The Nodes of the Moon are the intersection points in space of the orbit of the Moon around the Earth with the apparent orbit of the Sun around the Earth. There are thus two Nodes: The North Node and the South Node.
The North Node is called Rahu; the South Node is called Ketu. The Nodes are actually demons, because they are the eclipse points and they even have the power to devour the luminaries: The Sun and the Moon, but – because Vedic astrology is Tantric – everything is inherently connective to the Divine: even adverse circumstances, even what could be called ‘bad’, but only if we perceive these difficult states in the right way.
Anciently, the Nodes were depicted as a dragon. The Dragon’s Head is the North Node called Rahu; the Dragon’s Tail is the South Node called Ketu. What is the spiritual gift of these demons?
Rahu, The North Node
Rahu is where we in terms of life circumstances will put our obsessive, instinctual driven energy of ambition. Rahu is the call of our Future. Our obsessional drive can be dark and destabilizing but the experience of it can impel us to see God, and that we are not cut off from God but actually one with God (and one with everyone else).
Ketu, The South Node
Ketu is where in terms of life circumstances we will find that everything will dissolve. Ketu is our past lives and our past life karmas and skills. This experience can terrify, but Ketu dissolves that which needs to die in terms of our need to be reborn and go forward to meet our spiritual destiny in this incarnation. Ketu is sometimes depicted as the ‘occupying army’, i.e. those life areas we have already ‘conquered’ in earlier lives, whereas Rahu is depicted as the advancing army, i.e. those territories we need to advance into in this life.
In Vedic Astrology, the Nodes of the Moon are interpreted in terms of the following factors:
The Houses that the Nodes fall in in your natal chart. The Signs the Nodes fall in, and study of planets aspecting the Nodes.
Rashi Tulya
Just a very special feature: Rashi Tulya reveals the message/energies/learning that your soul is sending you in this life-time. I show you your Rashi or birth chart, and to the right of it: your Navamsa Soul/marriage chart. We note the number of signs moved from Rashi to Navamsa, then use a special interpretation table below to establish the message your soul is sending you in this life for each planet. This is such an amazingly valuable thing to hear.
So, to conclude, I stress that my Astrology Readings are expert and through. They always combine Western Astrology and Vedic Astrology. You get your charts beforehand, and reports too if you opt for those. The reading is recorded, and you have every opportunity for discussions/questions afterwards.
I look forward to hearing from you and to working with you,
Michael
