I do feel certain, myself, that both Vedic and Western astrology are needed for the fullest accuracy and perception.
Vedic astrology uses the sidereal zodiac (anchored to the ‘fixed’ stars) and is orientated to statement of incarnational life purpose: the circumstances we attract at birth to create the destiny our soul chose for this incarnation, and the unfoldment circumstances.
Western astrology (derived from the position of the Sun at the Vernal Equinox) uses the tropical zodiac and being Sun-sign based is orientated to our egoic psychological experience, and crucially, western astrology includes in an essential and totally valid way: our experience of the Outer Planets.
I cannot stress the latter enough. For example, when my current Uranus transit conjunct natal Moon and opposition Sun transit happened, my life was indeed subject to Revolution.
I have given readings for years that combine both western and Vedic Astrology.
I have many students who, while their course will primarily be in one of either Vedic or Western astrology, do learn to cross-refer.
I think part of the reason they succeed in this task, is that I do aim to be very caring and supportive.
I give very individual depth attention.
